Client Overview

The client, a rapidly growing staffing firm, sought to expand its presence in the life sciences sector. Despite being a relatively young division within the firm, they were determined to grow their Life Sciences Practice by strategically hiring experienced professionals who shared their passion for the industry.

The client's primary focus was on client-facing roles, winning new contracts, and establishing a strong foothold in the competitive Life Sciences market. They were looking for individuals who were not only passionate about the industry but also had a proven track record, with 3 to 10 years of experience, preferably at other reputable life science recruitment firms.

Solution

Once scope had been established, Tempting Talent embarked on an extensive talent identification process, identifying over 100 potential candidates who fit the specified criteria.

Shortlisting and qualifying 30 strong candidates ensured that the client would only be speaking with the very best professionals that met scope.

While several candidates were found within Tempting Talent’s immediate network, they also sought talent outside of their existing connections through referrals and searching more broadly using in-house technology.

Results

After investing considerable effort and time in the qualification process, Tempting Talent successfully identified and presented five exceptional candidates to the client. Among these, three candidates were selected for interviews, ultimately resulting in one successful placement within the Life Sciences Division.

The negotiation phase was crucial, involving interactions with various stakeholders within the client's organization, including the CEO, Head of Life Sciences, and the team responsible for the new division.

Upon offer, the candidate was concerned about a new move after recently starting a family. Tempting Talent helped ease these concerns by highlighting the potential for better pay and bonus structures, emphasizing the growth opportunities within the Life Sciences Division and reiterating how personal and professional goals could be met through this new opportunity. Tempting Talent also worked with the client to balance negotiations: Recognizing the candidate's needs beyond compensation, Tempting Talent successfully negotiated remote working to support the candidate's family obligations.
